Mission Team Heading to Ethiopia

Ethiopia Flag Image In late February a mission team from Our Saviour is heading to Africa. This time the team of 12 is embarking on a trip to Ethiopia. It will be providing support and encouragement to a number of different ministries located in the southern region of the country. It will be working alongside Ethiopian friends at a self sustaining farming ministry, doing some artistic painting at a rural school and participating in some activities with a sports ministry in the countryside. It is also planned to worship at the Anglican church in the capital of Addis Abba and hear about the church's work in the Sudanese refugee area of Gambella.
The team is made up of: Rev. Mike Clarkson, Ann & Brad Munday, Mary Whyte, Nena & Scott Jackson, Dennis Hampton, Patti & Jimmy Addison, Julia & Dave Ralston and Nancy Eason.
As a part of their training they will be learning all about the Horn of Africa; its history, culture and religion. If you would like to join the Team for two evenings of exploring one of the most fascinating regions of the world you are most welcome to either or both sessions. Each evening will begin at 6:00 with a light meal at The Church of Our Saviour. The evenings will last for two hours and the cost will be $20 with part of the proceeds going to support the mission. Come, hear and ask questions at the Team briefing from others who have lived and worked there. See the following information below for details.

The Basics of Islam and Ethiopian Christianity -
Conflict or Coexistence

The Bible (which Bible?) or the Qur'an, Isaac or Ishmael? - The Five Pillars of Faith that direct every believing Moslem - The development of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina - Why do so many different Moslems seem to believe different things and practice their faith differently? - Is the Ark of the Covenant really hidden in Ethiopia to this day? - Is this the home of the lost tribe of Israel? - How does Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity differ from what we know in the West today?

This evening begins with Pizza at Church of Our Saviour. Cost is $20 with part of the proceeds supporting the Church's mission work.
